Native: An exhibition

The Amazon River is a playground. In Mumbai, hotel linens are scrubbed by hand. In rural Vietnam a man prepares breakfast. Fishmongers in Zanzibar await the early morning fishing boats. We play, we eat, we work. Despite our many cultural connections, our eyes gravitate to differences. Native highlights cross-cultural parallels and challenges the notion that cultural identity is unique. The work asks, in light of our similarities, what does it mean to be native?
